LINERC Environmental Protection World Wildlife Day 2026

World Wildlife Day 2026

On the occasion of World Wildlife Day 2026, the Life Nature and Environment Research Club (LINERC) reaffirms its strong commitment to protecting biodiversity and promoting sustainable coexistence between humans and nature.

This year’s theme, “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods,” highlights the vital role that plant diversity plays in human well-being, traditional knowledge, and sustainable development. Medicinal and aromatic plants have supported healthcare systems, cultural practices, and rural economies for centuries. However, many of these valuable species are increasingly threatened by habitat loss, overexploitation, and environmental degradation.

LINERC believes that conserving these plants is not only about protecting species, but also about safeguarding traditional knowledge, community livelihoods, and ecosystem balance. Through awareness programs, research initiatives, field activities, and community engagement, LINERC strives to inspire students and citizens to take part in biodiversity conservation.

On this important day, LINERC calls upon students, researchers, policymakers, and the wider community to work together to protect wildlife and plant resources. By strengthening conservation efforts and promoting responsible environmental stewardship, we can ensure that the rich biodiversity of Bangladesh continues to support life and livelihoods for generations to come.

Together, let us celebrate nature and commit to protecting our planet’s invaluable wildlife and plant heritage.
